I think that I may have mentioned, at some point, perhaps more than once, that I can be a tad lazy. Well, just to substantiate this claim, I decided to head out into my garden with my camera and macro lens, plop myself down in a chair on my patio and only take photos from that one, sitting rather comfortably, position. You really can't get much lazier than that, can you? I took a few photos - not too many, mind, since that might require too much effort, and then headed back inside for a much earned nap. Sometime later, I downloaded my photos and lo and behold, look at what I got. All credit goes to my camera and my beautiful, gorgeous, absolutely perfect subjects, the shasta daisies and the geranium.
There are other photos, but they will have to wait for another day, since I feel a nap coming on........
For more Macro Monday, go here.
By the way, if you are really disappointed by the lack of a Macro Mystery this week (as I am sure you all are), never fear and come back on Wednesday. Tara, of Sticky Fingers, is hosting a little Macro Mystery Medley and I shall be a proud participant. I have been working very hard to find the most fiendish of all Macro Mysteries to test you all to your limits and to drive you all crazy ....... insert evil laugh here......... Oh, hang on, that might not be the best way to get you to come back to visit on Wednesday, is it? Sorry, it really won't be that hard, honest.

Both are so pretty and so vibrant against the black background!
i'm a daisy macro today as well. not lazy!!! beautiful.
You may claim to be lazy but your artist's eye is not. These are marvelous!
Both are beautiful; but that last one is stunning!
I just love your attitude. Flowers are nice, too.
Lovely composition in both shots.
They are beautiful - well worth the (lack of, you say . . . )effort!
Wow-- spectacular! How did you get the black background?
Not bad for a lazy person. I wonder what you could do with effort..hehe. Great shots
Woooooooooo - those are gorgeous!! Love the first one, the daisies seem to be floating in the night. Beautiful!
I'm going to head over to see what this new Macro challenge is all about!
Now look, don't get all competitive, I spend half of our trip to Florida bigging you up. You can't just walk in and wipe the floor with everyone...
Two great photos, again! And EM is right, take it a bit easy on everyone on Wednesday will you please?
Wow - those are amazing photos!
Tammy: Having a black background really does make the flowers stand out, doesn't it.
Margie: It seems to be a very daisy kind of a week - I guess they are all out flowering right now and catching our eyes.
AW: I did have a lazy eye as a child..... :o)
Carletta: Thank you!
Michael: I am glad someone does!
Kala: Your daisies are gorgeous too!
Jabblog: Definitely worth it, since they required so little effort!
Lesa: To get the background, you have to make sure that only the actual flower is lit. So, find a flower that is being hit by the sun, but the background is not. that will give you a darker background. To get it really black - photoshop, but you have to get it quite dark in the camera to be able to get it to black in PS without too much effort.
J n J: We may never know.......
Jay: You should have no problem with the challenge, since you are the longtime pro!
EM: Sorry, buy I can't help myself. I am finding the challenge quite difficult, since I am not used to photographing anything that is not a flower, feathery, furry or scaly. Everyday objects are not my usual subjects. Most of my photos are nice purely because the subjects are so wonderful.
Cortes: OK, so I can now claim that my photo is not so good because I was being nice to everyone. Excellent - it is always good to have an excuse lined up, ready to go.
DM: Thank you!
I'm so glad this one doesn't require any brain activity. Gorgeous photos (as ever). Love what you did to the background (assuming you did something to it, otherwise you live in a black hole)
Debs how do you get the black background?
Carolina and Baino: To get the black background I first made sure that when I took the photo only the flower was lit - the sun was hitting the flower, but the rest of the background was much darker. Then, when you get the photo into photoshop, you can make the blacks blacker, so making an already dark background almost black. You can only do this in camera raw, so you have to be shooting raw files, not jpgs. You can also do it in PS with a jpg file, but you will need to add a layer, take the exposure down for the background, while leaving the foreground, i.e. the flower. You have to make sure that you have no bright spots in the background, or it will be much harder to do.
Thanks for that. I accidentally managed to take a similar shot, befóre I read your comment yesterday. I do have photoshop, I just don't understand it (yet). So many tools and possibilities. Course or simple book needed ;-)
Thanks Debs. Carolina's nailed it but I don't have photoshop . . nor do I know how to use it . . .more to learn I think.
