Macro Monday - Yellow

So, today I took off my lazy arse hat. I went through boxes in the garage. I found my 50mm lens. I found my reversing ring. I found my tripod. Five boxes later, I even found my macro slider, as yet unused. I even went to the trouble of downloading software so that I could take multiple photos and merge them so that I could get an unlimited depth of field. I even read some blogs and help pages on how to do all of this. I was so going to have an awesome macro that would amaze and astound. It was going to be a marvel of macro photography - I had it all imagined, the photo, the praise, all the comments on my skill and how wonderful a photographer I am.

Well, did everything go according to plan?

Apparently not, since this photo was taken a while ago, down in California. Still, at least it means that I can double up with Mellow Yellow Mondays.

The lazy arse hat is back on, since all that effort was apparently not worth it. Perhaps I shall have to be a bit more patient next time and leave the hat off just a little longer..............we shall see.

sounds a bit like mine energetic moments that ends up in ...... nothing most of the times in my case. Good old photos are reliable and you found a great yellow flower in wonderful closeup

So, a lazy day in the garage. Nice. And a nice photo too. Just a couple of questions for you - whose 50mm lens? And are you really a fan of Donovan, as he sang this one two years before you were born.

Beautiful clarity when viewed large! Just a stunning image.

I like the yellow against the black background. I never did like using a 50 for macro -- too close for me. I prefer a longer lens with a two element close up attachment lens. Easy and effective.

Well, I'm impressed with your effort even if it didn't pay off the way that you'd hoped. The photo that you did capture is quite nice!

I think it is just something in the air right now....making us all dawn that very same hat you are talking about wearing! ;) However, the photo is quite beautiful and I still believe you have done yourself quite proud!

Hahaha! You sound just like me, sometimes! Oh well, you'll be halfway there for next Monday, huh?

And it's a great photo, this one you had already!

Wow....the photo is awesome. I like the larger photo when I clicked on it. Amazing.

Duranta Blossom is my macro shot for the week. I hope to see you visit with me if you can. Have a glorious Monday.

I was that enthusiastic about learning to blog. I did the reading, took out books from library, joined the tutoring sites, and here I am, posting as I will, when I will, just what happens to catch my fancy.
But you did share a lovely photo today!

That is a gorgeous shot. The details are so vivid.

Hmmm. I think I'll check out that method of getting max. depth of field too. Someday. When I've finished my painting projects.

Christina: Yep, nothing at all, but perhaps next time.........

Cortes: I believe the lens belongs to a good friend of mine. I hope he lets me know when he wants it back. Donovan - who he is? I must be much too young.

Kala: Thank you - I just wish I knew how to get them larger on Blogger.

Awarewriter: Using the 50mm on the 105mm macro was rather tricky - probably why I didn't end up with a good shot. Perhaps I should try close up attachments. I do have some extension tubes coming my way as I type. Perhaps they will be easier to use.

Colleen: Ah well, there is always next week. Perhaps I will have figured things out by then

Sistertex: I didn't realise other people also had lazy arse hats. Glad I am not the only one.

Ma.links: Thank you.

Jay: Oh yes, you just wait until next Monday......or perhaps the one after that......

Hootin': Thank you, as always.

Jabblog: Thanks!

Dogsmom: I guess that is the thing about hobbies, unlike real jobs. You can do them whenever you feel like it, without all the pressure of having to do them.

Jan n Jer: Always learning (or not, if I am being lazy). But you are right - there is so much to learn.

Marty: Thank you and thanks for dropping by.

Kim: I was hoping someone might be able to tell me what the flower is, since I really don't know. I am not very familiar with S. Californian flora.

PS: Thank you - some photos really take you by surprise when you take a close look at them. This was one of those photos for me.

Katherine: It was actually much easier than I thought and I finally got to use my macro slider. Now all I have to do is work out how to get good lighting and how to keep bugs still for the time it takes to shoot 20 or more frames!

Namaki: Not bad, but not the shot that I was day dreaming about!

You áre an amazing photographer. I always love your photos. The light, the composition. Thanks for always making me feel hugely inadequate at photography.

So... enough with the buttkissing.
Nice photo!
I'm curious what you can produce if you manage to make all those bits I've never heard of work for you.

;-)

Ah disappointing but the macro's fantastic anyway. I'm still struggling with the manual settings on my camera so anything that turns out is a bonus!
